Thinking Ahead

I’ve got to finish my Spectator Grand hat by Friday, so I’ll have to operate like a well-oiled knitting machine in order to fully complete it. I’ve got all the knitting done, but I have yet to properly finish it. Here’s everything I have to do before Friday:

  • Blocking
  • Email Annie Modesitt about ribbon specifications (how much, how wide)
  • Wiring prep
    • Borrow file, snippers, and shrink-wrap
    • File down wire, solder it together and shrink-wrap it (I’m going overboard, but I want it to be really secure and I want to play with shrink-wrap)
  • Wire head-size and brim
  • Buy ribbons (in both cream and lime)
  • Trim brim (hee hee I rhymed)
  • Put lotsa ribbons everywhere
  • Sew in a nice lining
  • Add pretty flowers
  • Find a nice hat box or decorate a crappy one
