Miss Woolly has tipped us all off to a Moose and Moss Stitch pattern! It’s so hard for me to figure out good moss stitch patterns, so this is fantastic. My uncle once had an experience with a moose and had to put a moratorium on moose gifts. Perhaps he can lift it for this christmas?

My other blog is frequented predominantly by boys, so I’ve decided to post about boobies on this one. Check Your Boobies is a great site about breast exams and has a nifty little email reminder that lets you know when you’re due for your next exam based on your cycle. Sign up and stay healthy! Yay cancer avoidance!

Holy cow! I am totally shocked by the appearance of Knucks in this issue of Knitty. I had this EXACT idea and was planning to submit it to this edition of Knitty but didn’t have the time to design the gloves themselves. Arg!
I have “THUG LIFE” sitting in my “Pattern Ideas” draft post on this very blog, but now I must sadly move on to the next idea. Which I will not talk about so as to maintain its secrecy and originality. * Sigh. *
Anyone notice how the only patterns in this issue are mittens, socks, hats and novetly items? They’re all pretty, but it seems rather strange.
Oh wait, it’s the accessories issue. I get it.

No substantial post today, as I am feeling a bit down. Germany went out of the World Cup today. I had to watch the game at the pub because I don’t have cable, so there was a nice Brit and an Irishman who did the whole “there, there” thing when we lost. The Irishman assumed I would start weeping, so he went to grab a napkin for me to dry my eyes but for some reason it was the one napkin in the bar that was filled with salt and it splashed all over me. It was rather absurd. I didn’t weep too much over the game but I’m still pretty disappointed.

I’m doing an experiment with Adsense. I’ve switched things around so that instead of the ads displaying when you’re coming from a search engine, the ads are shown to all those without a cookie from my site. The cookie is set every time you comment, so anyone who’s commented before doesn’t see them. Essentially, it’s a way to show my ads to surfers but not to my regular readers.
Leave me a note with your thoughts on the matter. I’d really like to hear your opinions on this, as well as your opinions on advertising in knitting blogs in general.

The blog stats program I use has a useful little feature that tells me which search engines people are coming from and which search strings they use to find me. For example, in the past month my top five search strings have been:
I don’t think I can (or want to) help people looking for world cup nipples, but I might be able to help people looking for knitted amigurumi. So in the spirit of “you scratch my blog, I’ll scratch yours,” I’ve decided to start a series where I answer the questions people seem to be having when they reach my site.

At Saunshine:
Thanks to the bloggin world, I learn something new everyday. Today is Canada Day. It’s the celebration of the formation of provinces under the name Canada. It’s good to learn about cultures other than your own. Thanks Dorothy.
I think that’s really cute. Oh Saun, aside from the wire tapping in the states and the igloos we live in up here, we’re all pretty much the same. But I appreciate your interest in our culture. Any time you’re up in herre (sic), I’ll totally show you around and then we can eat beaver tails.
Um, they’re not actually beaver tails, don’t worry.

I wrote a blog post on my other blog about Gmaps Pedometer that I thought might be interesting to you folks. If you’re a runner and you hate planning out your routes, this is a great tool. Gmaps Pedometer allows you to plan out a running route using Google Maps, giving you information about the distance travelled, your elevation at each point, and optionally how many calories you’d burn.
