Quick Knitting Book Reviews

I stopped by Indigo a few days ago and $20 later I’d bought about half of my Christmas presents for next year. Hoorah! Of course I had to go by the knitting section, so here are two books I checked out and what I thought of them.
This looks fantastic! There are quite a few patterns in here that I would knit for the beau. This would be more apt for the modern hipster /slash/ metrosexual than, say, a dairy farmer, but given that most patterns for stylish fellows suck butt, it’s a great addition to the male knitting library.
Domiknitrix: Whip Your Knitting into Shape
I took a quick glance at this and it looks like it has some nice tips. There’s quite a bit of colour knitting in here, but the patterns aren’t really what I would imagine a Dominatrix to wear. On the pattern end of things, it was just another book. For a naughtier knit, try Naughty Needles: Sexy, Saucy Knits for the Bedroom and Beyond.

Knitting With Balls
I really enjoyed the DomiKnitrix book and was almost ready to purchase it until I got to the pattern section. The beginning explanation section was great–knowledgable, easy to read, funny. The patterns did nothing for me. They weren’t, as Eve said, very sexy or dominatix in style, but more ecletic. If I had more funds, I would have purchased it anyway, but I instead saved my Christmas gift for something else.
Thanks for reviewing the Knititng with Balls book. I will be sure to check it out, if only for some male size knits, especially in the sock category!
