Saturday, Pattern Day #38

Saturday, May 24th, 2008

Before we get to the patterns, I’d like to share something I’ve been musing about. I’m considering changing the format of these pattern posts slightly, to include little images of each pattern (if they’re available) so you can see a preview before clicking over to them. This would involve slightly more work on my part, but I think I can manage it. What do you guys think? Would you appreciate seeing thumbnails of each pattern, or could you care less?

If you are knitting or have already knit a pattern that I’m talking about, leave me a comment and I’ll update my post with a link to your version. If you’ve written up a pattern and you want me to link to it, send me an email or leave me a comment and I’ll post it! It makes the list longer and my job easier.

  • It’s crochet so it might not belong on this list, but I don’t care. I love this frilly coin purse!
  • I also like the Shalom Cardigan. I would prefer it with a cap sleeve, but that’s easy to modify.
  • I love seeing patterns with real structural ingenuity, and Leethal’s Short-Rows Wavy Hat has that in spades.
  • Have you been looking around for a one of those Bowtie Scarves that everyone’s been knitting? Well here’s a pattern to knit your very own Bowtie Scarf. Example here. There’s also another version of this at Drops.
  • This bright and shiny sweater is based on the famous Anthropologie cardigan, and it is mega-cute.
  • Here’s a recipe for the sassymetrical cardigan.
  • I must have randomly come across this link for free Rowan patterns at the same time as the big shots, because a few days after I saved these links to my Pattern Day Repository the web exploded over them. I need to start posting these links faster so I’m not longer being scooped! Here are my favourites: Crystal, Pippa, Navaho, Soldier, Gentry Cushion, Minx, Cable Sweater, Chrissie, Hardy, Ralph, and a Fitted Zipped Jacket.
  • I can’t remember if I’ve blogged these Love Heart Socks before, so here they are again.
  • Lurema and Scarfina are two new Berroco patterns based on the Ogee Leaf Lace stitch.
  • This Smocked Top would be quite elegant for summer.
  • Here’s a lace beret pattern for those of you who are not all bereted out yet.
  • Here’s a crochet shark toy, or Haifisch in German. Example here.
  • I think I’ve seen something very similar to this Lace Capelet before. Example here.
  • Here’s a Makeup Bag pattern with a bonus stethoscope warmer, for some reason.

  1. I made the bowtie scarf, but didn’t get a very good pic  So I didn’t blog about it. I gave it away to a friend. It was yummy alpaca, yum yum. Maybe I can clean up the picture or something…

  3. Thumbnails would be nice but I don’t mind clicking on links because they take me to new places.
