I am on a winding binge. I can’t stop. And I’m considering buying or making myself a swift. Yarn winders are a gateway tool.

I couldn’t resist putting my little yarn cakes on a dessert tray. Forgive me.

A friendly warning…you’re on a slippery slope. First you’ll want a swift. Then it’s a scale (to weigh how much of the cake is left when you’re done with a project) and then you need a yarn meter, because of course you’ve lost the ballband and the amount of yarn is different anyway….

I remember doing something VERY similar when I got my yarn winder.. I unfortunately don’t have any fancy cake display plates.. but hey.. the feeling was the same..
hmm.. I would pop over to knit picks and get that swift and scale.. ya know free shipping after $50 and I just got the scale it’s nice it even comes WITH batteries!
I got a vintage swift but am thinking a new wooden one will be in order.. sigh..
oh but you can make a swift with your office chair…
