Finished Project #6 for 2006 :)

One Skein Wonder: Done!

I finished this about 2 weeks ago, but I didn’t have the chance to photograph myself. I finally got Les to do it for me but he kept on being like “this flash is not powerful enough” and I was like “that’s because you have to come in closer, there’s way lots you can crop from the photo” and he was like “stand in the sun, there’s too much shadow” and I was like “if I stand in the sun I’ll have to squint” and there was lots of fussing and you’re going to have to put up with a slightly dorky, blurry, shadowy shot of me squinting but wearing a very stylish One Skein Wonder.

One Skein Wonder, finished Mayish, 2006
Pattern: a modification of the One Skein Wonder.
Yarn: Red, 100% cotton, ripped from a sweater
Needles: 3.75mm circulars
Dimensions: Me-sized (second-smallest size in the pattern, oh yeah!)
Movies Watched: Wedding Crashers. It was okay.
Pattern Notes: I kept to about an inch of ribbing in the back, but I used short rows and increases at the armpits to make the neckline rib twice as long. I really like how it turned out!

Fun stuff in the works

To all those who are viewing my site in Internet Explorer, I apologize. The site isn’t displaying perfectly in IE yet, but I’ll be working on solving that today. I’ll also be taking pictures of my One Skein Wonder, which I finished a few days ago and which I’ll be blocking this afternoon. Stay Tuned!

I’ll be playing around with the site over the next few days, so bear with me. It’ll look great soon, I promise!

One Skein Wonder: In Progress

I finally figured out how to photograph red (sort of)! The trick is to add a green photographic filter. Neat!

I know I should be working on the Spectator Grand, but this was calling out to me. The need for a shrug to round out my dress was too much. I swatched it last night and I’m knitting it on 4.5mm instead of 5mm needles because cotton stretches a bit. Hopefully it’ll work out, this will be a yarn test for the real thing!
